would you really pay £4
me and hubby are having terrible trouble pricing our items
we want to make them reasonable but not too cheap
we have a good client base for our homemade cards and loads of people tell us to put our prices up but the reason people come back again and again is that we don't try to rip them off and we make a profit on what we charge
but we are new to this jewellery making and each time we think of a price for certain things we just can't make our minds up whether its too cheap , not enough etc
I'm just making wine glass charms and have no idea what to sell them for
if I price them up individually they don't sound too bad but if I then times it by 6 for example then they seem quite expensive !!

I think £4 is maybe a little too much as I would want to buy more than one. Probably I would want it for £3 at the most.:D

Are they to be used as xmas tree decs? If so, £3 for 1, 4 for £10?

I've always had a rough formula for pricing my smaller items. Generally, I try for 3 x the cost. Of course, you must factor in your time to determine the real cost. Any project that takes me a lot of time, I add in extra to get to the minimum hourly payrate that I need.
Very lovely, by the way. I think you'd get at least that rate that you mention in your above post.

I know it sounds stupid but I just can't believe that people would pay that much for something I've made !!
I have no confidence in myself unfortunately
have the confidence cause I really like them. Perhaps do them in more christmasy colours - reds and green, silvers, golds etc - i reckon they would sell really well!

It really depends on the size it is. If it's biggish I would ppay between £4 and £5. Sue xx:mf:

One good way to stretch the price people may pay is to use words like unique, handmade, limited, rare, etc. Psychology I suppose.
I like AmyE suggestion to do the in christmassy colour schemes as well.
Good luck with them!

the photo obviously doesn't do them justice as they are in fact made with christmassy colours
green , red and gold
I tested this fact with my 16 year old daughter and asked if she liked them
I got a grunt lol
then I said should I make them in christmassy colours to which she replied
what you talking about they're red , green and gold lol
was thinking of making some girly ones in pink and silver ??

I understand Grunt, I get quite a lot of it from my eleven year old! Yeah I think girlie colours would appeal to the little ones as a nice alternative to your Xmas colours. I think you should makre whole pile ad they would go really well. You have been showing us some great stuff that you have made so don't do yourself down.:)
i did think maybe they were christmasy colours after i posted! - the photo makes the red look quite pink though.
