Hi
Has anyone here used any mouldmakers. I am doing some sculptures in clay that I would like to reproduce in clay . I have only ever made very simple moulds so do not feel able to make my own. I am wondering about cost as much as anything

hi there. Potterycrafts in Stoke on Trent used to offer a mouldmaking service. Trouble is postage is so high because the moulds are so heavy! Hobbyceramicraft in Hook, Hampshire may well help you, they are a really friendly bunch who may help or point you in the right direction. If the sculptures are large it may prove expensive as I guess you will need to transport them there to be cast anyway? Sorry I cant help more, but good luck with it. Cabby

If you know stoke at all. There is a really good mouldmaker near one of the Churchill factory shops.
When looking at the shape you want to cast, look from above and look for how many under cuts there are that is one of the ways they decide how many peices the mould is to be made from.
I majored in mould making for my degree many moon ago.
