glass slidessubstitutes

I love the work Ive seen by people who use glass microscope slides.

I think they show top quality in artwork but Im always worried they will break.Are there any thick/safe versions that can be bought or is there are perspex type substitute?

You'd be amazed how tough those slides can be.
I do believe however, that it dpends on how thick they are.Mine are 1.2-1.4 mm thick and they are fairly tough.
Now, I suspect you want to put something in between them ?
Have you given any thought on how you want to seal them?
