I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Caroline, for all the months of planning and organising of the above event.
The venue was lovely which is more than I can say for the weather on the day, but that didn't dampen our spirits.
The tables were well organised with careful thought given to where everyone was placed.
It was a great day and was really good to meet so many talented people all under one roof, the standard was high. I felt quite the novis compared to some.
So once again thank you Caroline for bringing all of us together, I hope we can do it again soon.

Oh I'll definitely second that!!
Must admit I was nervous, it being my first and everything, but it was fab. Any little hiccups were sorted straightaway.
And that cake.... :preggers: (not preggers - fat tum stuffed with cake)

Thanks Lisa and Lindsey for your posts, have to say I'm feeling a little sad :nopity:as I just received the following feedback and so am hoping not everyone was thinking this:
"Although the venue was great as far as tea room and loos were concerned, if you are going to do another fair you really need to advertise it much better. The hand written sign near The Mitchell centre was the only sign that we saw coming and going from the venue. It looked very unprofessional and inadequate. I know this was your first attempt but advertising is the most important part if you want to get the right type of person to come and buy.
Sorry to be negative but it takes a lot of effort on our part as well especially when we don't make any money."
So it's lovely to hear such positive comments from you guys!
Thanks again, I really enjoyed the day and think that the standard of crafts there was unbelievable. I was really happy with the way things went, and truly appreciate all feedback. So long as I don't get any more like the above, I'll definitely be doing another one!:D
Thanks
Cxx

OMG C, I don't agree with that at all! I think you did a great job ;) There will always be people that aren't happy (Boo hiss to them). How horrible for you to receive such bad feedback

Did people buy lots?

Did people buy lots?
Well it certainly seems that way. The feedback so far is that most crafters had a good day, there was a prize draw which had 130 entries (entries were given with every purchase) so the signs look good!

I really don`t think you could have done anymore to advertise the fair, Caroline!
At the end of the day, it`s just not on to go round littering the countryside with signs etc. It`s also up to the stall holders to do their bit to advertise the event. Some people expect too much.
I thought it was a great day. I recieved several orders yesterday via the site as a result of being there so well worth it!

Glad the event went well! Don't worry about the 'constructive' feedback you received, I'm sure it was meant with the best intentions so at least you can bear it in mind for future events. Life's a learning curve! :D

Yeah. I'm sure it wasn't meant nastily - more constructively as Si says.
I know the stall holders on either side of me were disappointed. Both have been doing fairs for several years and I don't think they sold much at all, if anything. I don't really have any past experience to compare to but I did OK. I'm still at the stage of finding my level - price wise but I made money so I'm happy.
Having learnt many things this time around, I am really looking forward to the Christmas one :D.
(Will pm you with more feedback C.)

I'm so sorry guys, I didn't want to sound like a moaner! The feedback I have received has been 90% positive with some great ideas and thoughts for making it better next time. Most people made enough feel like it was worth coming, given the current climate! I definitely think the prize draw helped to motivate people to spend! I'm pleased to say that we received more publicity than I first thought with coverage on the BRMB website and in the Sutton Coldfield News.
I had a great time and glad you all did too, I look forward to seeing you at the next one!

Hi everyone : - )
I just wanted to say that I thought the event was extremely well organised. I was very impressed at how well the day flowed and with the banners and advertising that Caroline had obviously spent alot of time on. The raffle idea was also ace.
I also thought the turn-out was really good considering it was raining everytime I looked out of the window!! lol
This is only my first year at doing craft fairs, so I do not have alot of experience, but I have been to a few this year. I had a great day and met alot of interesting & talented people.

Thanks Anne! Your jewellery proved very popular, it's being worn in my office as we speak (by my colleague Deb who came to support us, and then spent loads of money)!! :D
