Find-a-fair search [Archive]

Hi I have found an online company who search your local areas for craft fairs. You enter your details, what type of fair you are looking for, the distance you are willing to travel etc and they send you an email back with a list of fairs and the organisers contact details.

I have just received my email and have been given 4 dates very close to me, none of which I knew about despite searching the internet for more than an hour.

Very helpful and good service, worth checking them out and it's free! Their website is....www.ukcfis.com (http://www.ukcfis.com/)

I'll echo this - a very helpful service! I've just discovered two on my very doorstep that I hadn't a clue about! :o :)

It is very helpful... and the person who runs it, John, is a member here called Fair Do! I'm sure he'll be very pleased that you are happy with his service, he's just sent me a list of events today as well.

Cathy - you e-mailed me today about the Preston Craft Fair. Did you get that through ukcfis? John is really really helpful and if you came through him I am glad, but you must have missed my posts on the forum! Will be interested to know and hope you have got my reply e-mail.

It's a very good service - I found one of my favourite regular venues through that!
I will have to give it another try soon to look for some more :)

I'm afraid that even the people behind craft websites are entitled to a holiday now and again! :D

Thanks for the fab link, the site is closed at the moment whilst they catch up but hopefully it will up and running again soon, I'd love to find some fairs in West Sussex.

Hi All,

I've only just picked up on this thread ...and it's made me feel very guilty, so I thought I should post this reply.

I should firstly say 'thank you' for all the encouraging comments. They are much appreciated.

I have closed the Find-a-Fair service for now as I am having problems with my main computer that runs the searches. I hope to resolve this soon.

Previous to this I was on holiday (as Si mentioned) and when I came back and 'switched on' I got approx 30 requests in 24 hours! That may not seem a lot, but it takes time for me to put each report together ...so I hope you can see why I had to close it again! And that's when the machine problems started ...I'm not having much fun with it all at the moment.

Anyway, thanks for your patience, and I hope to be back with you soon. Just as a side note ...I am still receiving notice of new events, so there will be even more for me to report on when I get things running again.

Just a quick update to say that I've had some success with the machinery this evening so I should be able to start sending out the backlog of requests tomorrow.
