I started this a few years back, it ended up at the back of a cupboard one Christmas when I moved my quilling bits out of the way and then found it when I moved house! I was onto doing the map by this point so I've only just got around to finishing it - but it was worth it in the end I think. :)

That's great. It's very much of the style of the original tea caddy's that were famous for the quilling designs. They all apparently started out in bright colours. Wonder if it'll still be around in several hundred years.

That's a nice thought - it would be nice if the colours stayed as well instead of going brown! I usually use some spray varnish to help preserve the colours and protect them a bit.

Well worth the time and effort put into completing it, it is absolutely stunning. I have always wondered how people protect their quilling once it is completed especially if the item is to be used rather than being purely decorative.
