I'm useless at making dolls clothes but since I make dolls I thought that maybe this is something I should work on :D
So does anyone know where I can get a really simple pattern that I can practise with?
I have found some on Bella online but they were a bit fiddly and had lots of rouching and frills.
I'm not that experienced!

Hi MC - afraid I don't know, but I will watch this thread with interest as I want to make more dolls, and doll clothes too thanks to that wonderful swap you organised:)

sorry, I had to dash off to collect my dd from school.
They're about 18" tall.
Hi OMW :D
I was thinking the next swap I did would be involve some sort of dolls accessories but I'm not sure how it would work.
I'm loving making the russian dolls for gingermonkeys swap.

Here's one for you to try. It's not too difficult.
A Spring dress for an 18" doll (http://janome.com/index.cfm/ProjectCenter/Project_Detail/Spring_Dress_For_18_in._Dolls)
I bought a copy of The Dolls Dressmaker by Venus A. Dodge, a bargain on ebay! It has lots of patterns/sizes and I think you'd find it invaluable if you could get hold of a copy.

There are free patterns on the net but I can't recommend the Venus Dodge book enough.....it is so helpful for all shapes and sizes of doll. I don't use patterns these days but draught my own...happy to help if I can any time...
