So, there had to be a good reason for me not to come onto the internet and this is it!

It is still in progress and has yet to have some work done..... left to do is 1500 Swarovski crystals to be added one by one to both bodice and skirt, binding to be done on corset, alternating ivory and gold roses to be added to the top and bottom of corset and scattered loosley through the skirt top and ivory binding to be added to the edge of the top layer of net.

All in all there is around 40 metres of net on the skirt, 10 metres of lining for the skirt and the usual corset components for the top - hope you like. Please feel free to offer critique and advice on where it could be bettered.

Thanks Smile :D I haven't had much positive feedback over it which has kind of knocked me a little as I have put my heart and soul into it :( My hubby is naturally proud of me and I shall be putting it up for sale once totally completed BUT if it doesn't sell, I will be adjusting it slightly for me to wear when renewing my vows instead of the original red gown I made :D

Thank you so much everyone :D It has been such good fun making it up - I literally woke up and "knew" I had to make it if that makes sense?

It looks a lot smaller on the mannequin than what it actually is - it fits a size 14-16 and would suit someone with a good curvy figure :D I tend to make more clothing and gowns for larger sizes when I am working off the top of my head and only really do smaller stuff on request.

Got to get the royal seal of approval today as my gran visits on a Saturday and she is the most brutally honest person ever!!!! Fingers crossed she likes it too :D

Goodness, Brit, where do you find the time? I'm quite envious because, working full time, I have only managed to make a pair of curtains this week, in a mad rush against a tight deadline, and now have to do the housework before I can do anything else. Do you have a fairy godmother who does the rest of work so you can sew???!!!!!!

That's beautiful! Once you've added all those beads it's going to look absolutely stunning! I would have been made up to have had a wedding dress like that!

Oh that is so stunning, really beautiful!

I like the other stuff you have made too, I was having a nosey yesterday.

I am a fairly novice dressmaker; just made an unlined jacket and skirt for myself and a ballgown for a friend; I have to say the thought of boning is just scary!

Thanks evryone :D

I have been taking some time out due to my granfather having a very serious stroke and being very sick.

Now I am back to sewing and gradually catching myself up. I have done a lot more handsewing on the gown and have put the 2 piece eyelets into the corset, hand stitched the hook and eye fastenings to the skirt basque and am all about ready to be finished.

I have just had a shop approac me with the chance of getting some of my stock onto thier shelves also which is great - I will be working on that above the gown for now though :D
