I am in the hope that someone might have one or know of one! A very simple one at that!

Am after a tutorial for making a little zip purse/pouch type thing. I got some lovely material the other day but am useless on my sewing machine as am very much a beginner and the instructions I have for making a purse are really confusing me even though they probably shouldnt!

So can anyone help? Am desperate to show my husband that I can make something other than a taggie on my sewing machine I begged him to buy me :D

Go and take a look at TipNut (http://tipnut.com/category/crafts/sewing/). You'll probably find something you like there :) And you could also try About.com (http://sewing.about.com/od/bagstotespurseproject/Free_Bags_Totes_Purse_Sewing_Projects.htm)

I'm sure there are excellent web tutorials around, but the only tip I can give is to stitch the zip into place before you stitch the side pieces together - it's much easier to get it in squarely and get the stitching even.

This is a nice tutorial for zipped pouches. Apparently I can't post URL's yet so I can only tell you to Google vintagericrac dot blogspot dot com.

I like the way she deals with the zip it means it lays nice and flat at the ends. :)
