Hi everyone. Thought I'd take a few minutes to introduce myself to you all. I'm a 40 something housewife with a passion for beaded jewellery and gemstones. I've been making my own jewellery for several years now - started off repairing the costume crap that I'd bought and realised I could do better.... and I do!!:D
OK.... maybe I shouldn't have said that cos I sound sooooooooo concieted (have I spelt that right?).
I'm not really big headed - in fact I sometimes have very little confidence in my creations but I recently met one of the forum members and he loved most of my stuff. I say most of my stuff because he was brutally honest - some of my pieces that perhaps I (truthfully) knew weren't that good and he told me straight what he liked and what he didn't, and more importantly, what he thought would sell. He sells gemstone jewellery and offered to take some of my pieces and put them of his market stall and he actually sold them!! :jump:
He's since arranged a few commision orders for me and also a few repairs that he hasn't time to do himself. I'm not making a fortune but I'm covering my costs, having a good time doing what I love and I'm also getting a bit of spending money out of it.
He recommended the forum and I thought I'd check it out. Have to say I love the way everyone tries to be helpful to each other - there's obviously a huge collective amount of knowledge, tips and hints here and lets face it . . . . we all need a little help from time to time.
That's all for now. Hope to meet some of you soon. xA
