If you are interested in scrapbooking you could join our scrapbooking group in Leicester. There are two of us running it so if you are a beginner then there will be plenty of help on hand. also we have a scrapaholix kit included and will do a demonstration using the kit so you will have the opportunity to learn new techniques. next date is 12th July. 10am - 1pm.

Ifor-jones, when you have the time you could join us to. i'm sure you would love scrapbooking, it's very addictive so watch out!!!

Hi Becca - I would love to, but unfortunately as I do not drive I am a bit limited to travel and Leicester is 22 miles. But a nice thought anyway and who knows, one of these days I may get there. I am not sure I need another addiction though!!!! Card making and forum watching seem to be as much as I can cope with at present. Well done for getting a group going though.

I started off with card making, I used to spend ages making cards then get really dissapointed when it came time to give the cards away. Thats why i moved onto scrapbooking. Now i get to keep everything! and i have a great excuse to take loads of photos.

Shame you cant drive although 22 miles would probably been too far anyway! Still keep a look out for groups closer to you and give it a go!

love becca

If you feel like a trip out to the country at the end of August you can meet 8 forum members at once at the craft fair we are holding as part of our church fundraising weekend. See my link below to Preston Presents. If you know anyone else in the area who might be interested perhaps you could pass the link on.

Hi Sarah :)
I'm really new to scrapbooking and the forum as well, so I don't really have any advice, but just a bit of encouragement. You are NOT on your own in being a bit stuck where to begin. I found that looking at other people's pages was a big help, as then I could decide and narrow down a little which pages I liked (and which would be within my crafting capabilities :P)
And one thing I like to do is not to stick anything down until I've pretty much assembled the page, so if I change my mind about something (which I generally do) there's no harm done.
Susan :)

Ive done two and have about four to try and find the time to do i just play around until it looks right to me the only tip i would give is to not stick anything until you are totally happy with how it looks you learn something new everytime you do one.

Throw away your fears !!! :D I can perfectly understand what your are feeling. I know that impression : you have got anything you need, so it would not be hard to begin, but something is so frightening that you can't. I often think that I am going to do a really awful craft. But I force myself and finally, I think it's not so bad.
I am not for the moment a scrapbooker, I am a cardmaker. I made only one page.
But I am beginning to include photos in my cards, so I consider this is "mini-scrapbooking". In my humble opinion, this a good way to start.

Good luck with your crafts ! ;)
