Hi can anyone help me please? I am stuck on the best way to saw brass. I would love if anyone could help me with this please?

brass is 8mm and thicker. i do have some of the lower thickness around 1mm depth. I also have copper and brass rod.

I am able to work with copper about 0.5mm 1mm 2mm. (higher not to sure which blades to use.

I have a few other questions as well but this is the main question at the moment thanks.:mf:

thanks newbie.

As far as I know, and I've only worked in silver, the thicker the metal the wider the teeth on the saw blade you need to use.

Someone else might have something more helpful than that to add though! Sorry I can't be more help.

I use a cutoff disk on the dremil, on all metals, nice clean cut and more fun than sawing

I might try the dremel but I am always worried when using it. I find they get hot quickly too.

Have a bowl of water by your side when you're working and dip your piece, drill it a bit, dip it again then drill etc. I find this works for me.

I've not cut anything quite as thick as 8mm, but when I do cut sheet metals I always use Cut Lube. It extends the life of the blade and makes cutting a bit easier.

I run the saw blade through an old candle to keep it moving.
