Need stocking / tights material - stretchy nylon

He everyone,

I want to make some butterfly wings and need material to cover the wire frames I have designed for the wings. it needs to be similar to the fabric that is used to make ladies tights / stockings (i.e. very light weight and stretchy).

I've been to fabric shops and contacted wholesalers after searching on the Internet but have had no luck whatsoever. The fabric shops are telling me I need to order directly from somewhere like China, but there must be somewhere in England that sells this stuff??

Im not a big fan of ebay at the moment as i have just had a rant about it in another thread but, if you are looking for material that shops have said go to china for that maybe a good place to look as there are lots of fabric sellers based in china on there..

I had no luck at all with this when I did it, and ended up using actual tights.

I don't think you'll find it as material, as it's knitted directly into the tights & stockings, not made as a piece and then stitched up...
