Hello fellow designers!

I thought I'd give a quick intro of myself. My name is Carrie and I reside in Colorado USA.

I've been beading for about 15 years now. I usually sell at shows, but have recently opened up a website just for my jewelry.

I hope to share some of my work with all of you soon.

Thanks for having me!
Carrie

No... that's a good distance away from where I'm at. I'm in Northern Colorado, just about 20 minutes from the Wyoming border. But I have been through there and it's BEAUTIFUL!

Hi Carrie, welcome to the forum. I'm a jewellery maker and I've just come back from Las Vegas via Denver airport, it looked cold with all the snow over the mountains, but very beautiful! Have also been to Wyoming, stunning part of the world. Enjoy the forum but it can be addictive, Selina

Hi Carrie,

I don’t make anything; I just take photographs of things that have been made by others. I just try and be helpful over photographic matters as there is a general tendency to overlook the importance of good photographic images when displaying what you have made for sale. If you need advice, well just ask!

Kindest Regards,

I..

Hello and welcome from another newbie (welcome)
I make jewellery too, mainly in silver, although the lure of beads is sometimes too strong to be resisted!

Hope you enjoy yourself here - Colorado sounds wonderful though!

(And thanks for raising the issue of photos and when we can post/link to them!)

So I joined up with this forum Thursday morning, I took a little trip to the store and when I returned I found myself racing for the basement with my cats. And you guessed it... we live in Windsor Colorado and I'm sure for the first time EVER our little town made the news all over the world. At least that's what I heard. I wouldn't know because we just went for almost 6 days without power... it was just turned back on yesterday afternoon.
I very narrowly escaped this tornado. I was driving back from the grocery on Garden when the hail turned to golf ball size. I punched the gas peddle and hit 50 miles an hour in a residential area. Got to my cul-de-sac and was repeatedly hitting the garage door opener... got the car in the garage, walked into the house and the power went out, (because I could no longer shut the garage door), so I assume that is just when the tornado hit. I grabbed a cat in each arm and raced downstairs to our basement. The hail was then baseball size and our back yard looked like a batting cage.. these great big hail stones would hit the ground with such force they would then bounce 3-4 feet in the air and left pock marks all over our yard in the ground. It was truly the most terrifing experience of my life!
We are about 2-3 blocks from the worst damaged areas and we came through this without a shingle missing from our roof! Even my garden survived... it's just amazing when you walk just down the street and see the devestation.
But with all this down time having no power, I did get quite a few bead projects done. My husbands boss brought us over a gas powered generator so we were able to power our refridgerator, the TV and a light for me to bead by... you know the important things...lol.
Anyway... just thought I'd share with you all. I think we're at some point of normalcy now.

Glad you saved the cats! We are regularly on Tornado watch in Florida where I have a villa, thankfully we have missed them all so far, although one did touch down about 10 miles from us and that is scarey enough, stay safe, Selina

This is my first time experience with a tornado.. but this one was a mile wide!! My heart just sinks when I see my little town all torn to shreds... but it's uplifted when I see the community come together.
