And it seems to be quite a nice day here today...I hope it is for you also.
My name is Diana and I am a housewife, mum, carer, tiara and jewellery maker all in that order. Mind you these days house cleaning is taking a bit of a back seat as most of the day is looking after mum and my 3 teenagers and then in the evenings I crack on with any orders I might have but I always give the place a good vacuum before I have any customers to the house. Oh yes thats the other thing, I am a work at home mum and I have a wee website that you can see all the stuff I do on it. My latest interest is wire wrapping jewellery ..... its not a well know craft I think....Im sure I will be corrected very quickly on this forum by its members and thats the people I am hoping to connect with. Sometimes it is difficult to know what is the best wire strength or guage to use in a particular project and maybe I can get some advice here.
Finally if you want to peek at my work just type in dizatiaras into a search engine.
Hope to get to know you all
Diana ;)

Hello and welcome!(welcome)
Look forward to having a wee look on your website! I've just bought a couple of reels of wire recently, and know what you mean about the thickness, it is hard to judge! I've only recently joined and found that everyone seems very friendly and helpful on this forum.

Hello all thank you for the warm welcome.
Yep 3 teenagers can be very frustrating and people are always asking me how do i have the patience to do make what i make and i just tell them it is a great stress reliever. I would rather be threading crystals and wire together than getting upset by those teenagers not cleaning up their bedroom and leaving stuff lying all over the place. Once upon a time my house was described as a show house....but sadly not anymore. its a case if you cant beat them ...
Hello helena do you do wire wrap as well?.....hopefully i can pick your brains a bit about what you have learned and vice versa!

Welcome from another newbie and another jewellery maker.
I've never made tiaras although am increasingly interested in that and have looked into wire wrapping but got scared off as it looked quite difficult, time-consuming and wire-consuming!!
Hope you enjoy your visits here,
Michelle

Michelle....please dont be scared about wire wrapping....its not difficult the hardest part is having imagination.....sometime i do have trouble with that....the wire can be expensive but i charge according to my ability to create something pleasing to the eye. I know the lady that taught me does charge quite a bit more than me but her pieces are wonderful and shes not scared to order the best of materials to produce them. One day I hope to get get as good as my teacher...in the meantime i am happy with what i can create :) and i am happy to say to anyone interested in it, to go for it.
