Ok. So I know its a bit early but I am looking for some christmas trees - not just any trees though - that would be too easy!!!.

A good few years ago my friend had one (she hasn't got it anymore and no-idea where she got it from), it was about 3ft/ 4ft high and was made entirely of natural brown twigs. It had a small log base and was sort of upside down cone shaped. I think the twigs were stuck into a central thicker stick and trimmed to shape, it was very natural and rustic, just plain and had no lights or anything.

Does this make any sence?. I have spent ages looking for these over the last year and can't find them anywhere. If anyone has any ideas of what I'm on about and knows of anything similar or of anyone who makes something like that, I would be really really grateful for any help.

Hi Nicki
Have you tried the garden centres, may have to wait until October though, I know our local one has had these for sale, some are sprayed white or gold or just natural. About £25.00.
There is also one on ebay, just google : twig christmas trees and it is about the 3rd entry down.

do you have an "au naturel" shop near you. I saw what I think you are describing in there, they even had little tiny lights on, very pretty

I know exactly what you mean and I've seen them but can't think! Have you tried searching online?

Or Hobbycraft do a natural line at Christmas so they may have something or at least materials you can make it with..

They sound great. I'm a real tree fan personally, can't bring myself to buy an artificial one, but that sounds like a good contemporary alternative.:D

Morning Janet...we go away for christmas so dont buy real for that reason..only stayed home 1st year together and bought a small real one that's just outside the conservatory window in full view now and growing like mad!!! lol...

Few nuts n things for the birds was its decoration till we had the cats far too dangerous with 3 furballs to do that now so may just put a star on the top this year
(Cats get uncle Gerald to stay with them while we go away so they get a fun christmas too...he spoils them rotten..just incase you though bad of me for leaving them at christmas lol)
