I've finally decided to put some of my bags and ipod pouches on Etsy after reading quite a few positive comments on here.
I've only added a few items at the moment and will upload more in a couple of days.
I am still trying to get my head round it and any hints or tips that folk have from using Etsy would be most welcome.
I'm a bit down in the dumps today as I was asked by Notonthehighstreet.com to send them some images of my Handi Bags, only to be told I have not been accepted! Huh, I'm fed up!

Just looked at your website. Those Handi bags are a really good idea, should be popular with all the press to do with plastic carrier bags at the moment.
Good luck with etsy.

Your bags are lovely - I love the birdy fabric camera case.
Don't let it get you down about not being accepted - try try try again is my moto!.
I think the main thing about etsy is to have really good pictures of your things and lots of them. I think another good tip is to be as active as you can in the forums etc. as this helps people to find you and your stuff and then hopefully buy.
Good luck. x

I think that looks good too - keep drip feeding stuff onto there!
I wouldn't worry too much about 'notonthehighstreet' - they have their own agenda, whatever it is......I submitted some stuff a while ago, heard nothing, now I keep getting pestered by them to submit again !

Chin up,
you've done a great job on your esty shop...bags look great and should really do well especially with the younger buyers.
Keep trying and have faith in your product.
Good luck

Good luck with your etsy shop, I have just hearted you. :) Don't be down in the dumps though.
With etsy you need to give it time and also put in a bit of work to get yourself noticed. Try joining in on the forums there (there's a UK chat thread in the Teams section, come and say hello).
It takes time on etsy, the more people who "heart you" the more you get considered for treasuries and it's treasuries that get chosen for the front page. Comment on treasuries, maybe even compile your own treasury when they open up. :) Etsy is almost like a networking site when you start off.

good luck, your etsy shop looks great.
It does take time to get noticed on Etsy, keep popping in the forums on etsy, the UK thread is very friendly and helpful too.
See you over there no doubt!

Hi Anne,
Your bags are fab! well done, as a fellow 'bagger' i can really appreciate how difficult it is to get them sold and advertised. At the moment I am really struggling to sell them off my site. I seem to have plenty of traffic, but no sales! I know that I need more on there, but at the moment I havnt got the time to do it! Have you had much look selling off your site? I also tried with etsy but I found that I had plenty of people looking again but still no sale :nopity:I hope you have more joy, I know that there are lots of crafters on here who have been successful.
Good luck

Thank you all very much for your lovely comments on my Handi Bags, I will keep plugging away and keep trying different avenues of getting the bags 'out there'.
I'm doing the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate in July in the Made in Yorkshire marquee and I'm hoping they will sell well - they need to its cost me a fortune for the stand!
I will also go and check out the Etsy forums and the UK thread especially when I have a bit of time and really get to grips with how Etsy works.
Thank you all for your replies, its much appreciated.
Anne
