I heard a popping sound as my full weight trod down on an upturned earring....I then heard another pop as I pulled it out of my heel, it was stubborn, but it came out eventually.

Ouch ooo that must have been sore!! I remember my dear old granny (she's been dead many a year now) she was watching me and my brother and a wasp had came into the house - thought it had flown back out the window again as she couldn't see it - until she stood on it and it stung her on the foot - silly old woman should have been wearing slippers!!! Boy did she scream though!!!:o
Cheers.

Oooh, that DOES hurt... I've done it myself. And it's a horrible, horrible feeling, too, pulling something out of yourself that ought not be there!

hehe Know what you mean. I frequently do it with pins. My workroom carpet is covered in them and I prefer driving my machine without shoes on. That's how I find all my lost/droppped pins!!

Sounds like you'll have to spend the weekend with your feet up being pampered to recover from it!

.......how your teacher in primary school would grab you by the arm and virtually push you into a sitting position on the floor in assemblies or whatever?
Mine did this once, on a hot summery day in 1976, when we were doing sports day.....there was a bee in the grass and I got stung.:o
Guess where?;):p

My brother managed to tread on an upturned drawing pin when he was at school.
Ive also stood on an upturned plug, which I really dont recomend.

......talk about gun staplers.
Or sewing through your finger & nail when hammering along using zigzag stitch on your machine......
Gone pale at the very thought...

Ouch  I was doing some hand sewing last night and sewed through my finger - not all the way through but enough to hurt!

A few years back i was cutting something when i was sitting on the floor. I was using my mums solid very pointy scissors. I was kneeling down and put the scissors behind me and to the side. Or so i thought. I looked for them again to cut something and raised myself up on my knees and felt around the floor for them. I then sat back down on my knees to find that the scissors had managed to get under me and pointing up wards and when i sat back down they went right into my thigh!!
It was very sore and i had a big hole in my leg.

Ouch Seahorse and double-ouch Tsarvo! That made me cringe! Did you get the feeling back in the end of your finger?

No, not really,
but it is true what they say,
if the cut is deep enough, it doesnt hurt that much!:mummy::D
