Mosaic table top

Never done mosaic before but I am gaining an outside table for my new home that needs a bit of a revamp so thought I would go down that route rather than just sanding it down and varnishing it.

Can anyone offer any help on what materials would be suitable?

Might be worth PM'ing Katianne (http://www.craftsforum.co.uk/member.php?u=2330) - she will know what's best to use for outdoors - materials etc...
