I'm just fed up with hearing about football full stop!

The bishop of Hhull took the service on sunday and even managed a whole service built around it!!

I can sympathise. Living in the city centre, every match day the place is swamped with the relevant supporters of which ever team is playing-who are usually very vocal! Can you imagine if England had gotten into Euro thingamywotsit, you'd never hear the end of it-even in Scotland!

Thankfully I don't know anything about it. I'm glad the worst of the football season is over. There doesn't seem to be much sport to chat about right now. Yippee!

It's been on the news on Radio 2 all morning and I would imagine that it'll have been on the local news cos it's in Manchester. I'm not remotely interested either!

You have my sympathy. Having went to school right next to Hampden I remember how crazy it all got.
That's the beauty of living on the other side of the country.
Edinburgh teams never get that far in a competition.

Never mind it will all be over soon.

From you Glesga pal exiled in the East .....

Well, I left Preston at 9:40 this morning to go to a meeting at Salford Uni at 11am. It normally takes about 45 mins and thats not clogging it.

I stopped on the M61 at J6 which is the Reebok - miles from where I need to be because the traffic was horrid!!! And I think there was me, 1 other car and 2 wagons that I saw on the entire journey which were non football supporters.

And how do I know the traffic was football supporters? Because they saw fit to hang their washing out of their windows which flapped very annoyingly and honked their horns at me.

I eventually got to Salford Uni at 11:15am went to the room where the meeting was. And it had been moved and no-one knew where to........ In fact is was in a different building.......

So I was eventually 25 mins late. I walked in, they were all waiting for me and I'd not even sat down when I had to launch into the detail of the meeting.........

Very pants. And I'm wearing a dress too (second time this year!!):D

And you ought to see the state of Manchester the day after......

I work from an office very close to Piccadilly station which was vitrually covered in urine, vomit, food, alcohol and fag ends.

One of our entrances to the office was inpassable due to ankle deep urine and vomit. our security guards had to pressure wash the pavement so we could use the entrance.

Piccadilly station is disgustingly filthy - it makes you realise just how clean it usually is.

And to be quite honest, I'm appalled at the state of the place. God knows what I trod on from leaving the train to get to the office - I dread to think.

I know what you mean I saw the state of the place on GMTV this morning!! When they were showing the fans fighting - sad after all the hype for the fans to ruin it again - I think they should ban football altogether I hate it!!! hate it !!! hate it!!!! I heard on Real Radio in Glasgow this afternoon that one of the presenters hated football and one of the main points was that it segregated Scotland and I thought you are so right - you have a rangers fan and a celtic fan no in between really with all the other teams here the trouble always stems from those two!!!

Ban Football - do you think we could get a petition going!!!

On the note of the filth my mum and dad stay in Dunoon and the last weekend of August they have the Cowal Games which is a big highland games thing with loads and loads of pipers from all over the world attending. They pipe up Dunoon main street (it only has one it is tiny!!) then the do the same at the end of the games - but you have to see the state of the place on the Sunday!!!! Like you say the stench of urine, vomit, bottles lying everywhere (don't know about down South but we have a no drinking outside law so where are the police to arrest the drinkers then) it is disgusting!! Dunoon is such a lovely place and to see it like that is horrible.

Rant over sorry guys.

Cheers.

Oh really?

Want to hear about my day? I live in Glasgow, I had a meeting at Salford Quays!

Central Station at 0640: packed!
My train: Packed - although I will say I sat next to some very nice lads who were very well spoken, only the occasional sweary word.
0800 (ish): Preston, the train continues to fill, although this time, it's loads of buckfast sporting blueshirted morons who insist on doing the bouncy bouncy for an hour.
1030: Oxford Street, I am advised to get off the train a stop early as there are no taxis at Piccadilly and the station is mobbed
Get a taxi, No problems, meeting was great, nice lunch

1600: one hour and twenty minutes until my train, one of the guys at the meeting tells me to catch the tram it's lovely.
Packed in a small space with loads of sunburnt and drunk fans, all lovely and well spoken actually.
The tram stops 2 terminates before piccadilly - how do I get there? no one knows.... GREAT!

I saw a man from my meeting and he said he would take me there - it takes a good 40 minutes to wade through the knee deep rubbish (and the odd blueshirted moron) to get to the train station, then my train is at the furthest away platform, I get feet blisters from running in heels, get to the platform with 5 minutes to spare!

Close call, there was no way I wanted to be in Manchester when the football kicked off, Phew!

All in all though I would say the majority of the fans were lovely and polite, again, it is the minority that lets them down - 40 arrrested out of 100,000, that's less than 1%

I work from an office very close to Piccadilly station.......

Is the dolly's hospital still there?

When I was a little girl we lived in Sale Moor, and when on shopping trips into Manchester we passed a little shop, on the opposite side of the street from Piccadily, and it was a Dolly & Teddy Hospital.
