I'm thinking its going to be between Livejournal & Blogspot or is it blogger?! Mostly because these seem to be the names that prop up more times than others!

Does anyone have a preference for either & do they even differ much!?

I'd like to join DIY, crafty communities mostly but not ones where they just hardcore spam/sell, you know somewhere forumy & nice!

Wordpress is free too and way cooler. Loads of skins and widgets and plug ins. You have the added advantage of being able to install it on your own website if you have one.

I've got a few blogs in blogger although i'm going to swap over to wordpress like girlyracer. It's far more adaptable so you may as well start as you mean to continue.

I like the idea of being able to incorporate it into my website! Does wordpress have communities? Its looking like Livejournal is the best for communities which is half of the reason I wanted a blog

hmmm toughie

I've had a livejournal blog for years and like using that. I also enjoy the communities on there. :)

For my craft blog I am using blogger and like that also.

Thanks Clare, that answered one of my questions!

I have just signed up and published my first post on blogger, so Im pleased to see that others think it is good!

How do I search on it for other people's blogs though? I seem to be going round in circles!

I might sign up to livejournal too, and have 2 blogs! Greedy or what?!;)

To search for other peoples' blogs you can either:

1 - go to Google Blogs (Google home page, click on 'more' in top left corner of screen, select blogs from drop down menu - sorry if I'm teaching granny to such eggs :o) ) and enter search criteria eg crafts, jewellery making, textiles, etc

or
2 - if you know of one other blog you like, visit that and look at their favourite blog link. Just go to a few from members of CF (links in their sigs) and follow the ones they list. You can lose days of your life doing this hehehehe!

Enjoy!!

I use Blogger too, I find it really easy to use. I know a few people that are new to a PC and the net and they can find their way around Blogger easily :)

I am yet another blogger and found the whole process easy for someone who is allergic to computers!

I got locked out of my Blogger account which was very frustrating and set up with Wordpress, and it comes up quite high in Google searches (depending on keyword) so I'm happy with that! I forgot Livejournal existed :S
