Hello everyone!

I am looking for some low cost material in order to make some cushions. I went in to Dunlem yesterday and it was really expensive!

Does anyone know where I can order some from?

Help!

We've got a fabric shop, in the village, that sells ends of rolls, containing a few metres of furnishing fabric, for just two, or, three pounds. It might be worth looking through your local directory to see if there are any cheap material shops near you.

You don't say which area of the UK you're in - but if you can get to a decent size town/city on market day there's usually some fabric stalls which are reasonable. If you're in the north or the midlands the markets do fantastic fabric stalls eg Leicester/Nottingham

Do you want craft type fabric or soft furnishing fabric? Also if you're making items to sell you might consider getting proforma accounts set up with one or two fabric suppliers in order to get a trade discount.

Try the remnant boxes in dept stores if its only small pieces for cushions etc. Also look at skirts/dresses with lots of fabric in them at charity shops & cut them down.

Hope this helps

Try http://www.abakhan-onlineshop.co.uk
Their headquarters are in North Wales and they have shops in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, but if you can't get to them you can order online and postage is only £4.95 for any size order.

You could also try http://www.fabrix.org.uk/ our local shop in Lancaster. Terry does mail order also.

Good luck with your cushions :)
