She was very quiet, but looked excited. They all lined up and took register and then she was introduced to the others. The lady then did a head count up to 12 and Em carried on counting up to 20 (lol)
I cried when I got back home - silly me!

Was she OK Sam?
Isn't it strange coming back to an empty house, don't worry she will be fine and have a great time.

She'll be fine! I felt exactly the same way when my little boy went for the first time and the two girls before that. He now starts school in September and I'm dreading it!

Yep we all feel like that when they go off for the first time, it's a bit of a milestone isn't it? You forget the times when you have wished that you just had a little bit more time to do all the things that you want to do without being interrupted! I bet she's having a ball and will come home full of it.

:D She loved it! We got back here just gone 12pm, she had some lunch and has just gone for a sleep. She hasn't really gone on about it that much, but I know that after her sleep I won't be able to shut her up!
When I got there she had just won a game of musical statues :p Bless. And she said she didn't need to get (imaginary) Bibby and Bobby out of her bag as she didn't get scared. hehe
Hooray :D

All I can say is poor Bibby and Bobby, spending the whole time squashed inside Em's bag!
:D
Glad she had a good time.

I remember the first day Alice went to pre-school! She now says to me "YOU can`t come in Mummy, only little children can come in!"
She starts reception in September and I have to say we`re both ready for it!
Hope Em had a lovely time!
*sigh* I must be such a terrible mum ... I couldn't wait for Toby to start pre-school! They asked me if I wanted to stay with him for the first few days. Errr, no! He was fine, no tears from either of us.
Then when he started school in September, I was the same. Especially after having him home for the 6 weeks summer holiday!
Am I bad?

I'm so glad she enjoyed herself.:)
I work in a preschool and must say that 95% of the new children we see are fine. It's just the minority that cry and want mummy. We have to calm the parents down most of the time, so you're not alone.
I cried last September when my little boy started school, but then went into work and soon felt better.

If you are bad then I am too! I`m exactly the same. A friend who also has a child about to go into reception in September and I are already planning trips to go on during the School day.

As I work full time both mine started nursery at 5 and a half months and almost 6 months so they are more than used to it by now!! Samuel starts school in September as he more or less turns 5 and I'll be bawling when he puts his uniform on!!:D

Glad Em's first day went well, and you got some precious sewing time, I usually end up scooting around like a mad person until I have to pick Shelley up two and half hours later.
DS was at nursery from 7 months because I worked, but he loved it. I must admit I was keen for him to start school full time because he was ready and was quite difficult to keep occupied. DD is slightly different because she never went to pre-school until she was turned three, however she never looked back and she loves it too. She's quite easy going, I know I will be sad though when she puts her little uniform on in September and starts big school because she'll be such a baby still, she'll only be 6 weeks past her 4th birthday.

Amanda - Em's the same - She needs constant attention and is always looking to the next activity! Lets hope this keeps her going till she starts proper school. She is wearing me out :p

No way! I'm like you! lol. My son has been going to nursery since he was 5months old...**shock-horror** I pay for full time, but in reality he's not really full-time, by the time we've got our lazy bums (!!)out of bed and off to the nursery its 10am, then my partner picks him at about half 3, so we have it all quite laid back. But i'm thinking maybe we need to get some early morning rises in ready for when he starts school in september!
i put him nursery early bcoz I started uni, I was meant to go the year before, but a huge bump wasnt a good look! lol. I've finished now, but he's still at nursery. I think its good to be able to have a life & that doesnt make you terrible, we have to do whats right for us and our children, now if the staff said he cried from when i dropped him off till i picked him up then I might have felt differently, but luckily for me he was fine!! :D
s.x

I'm STILL waiting for school to tire Toby out! We have the same routine every night, tea at six, bath at seven, in bed at eight. However, he doesn't go to sleep until at least 10 o'clock !!!! "I'm not tired" "Well, I b****y am, so go to sleep!" He wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00 every morning, bright as a button (usually singing) whilst I have to heave my carcass out of bed and sometimes take him to school with my pyjama top on under my coat!!!
