HI FOLKS Just added a page of new wooden boxes to my web site.

I do not make these boxes, but have great fun decorating them in my own styles and designs, mainly with pyrography.

Please have a look and let me know what you think

HI Glad you like the cd racks. They are huge fun to make. They quite simply came out of a desire to do something a bit different. There will be more designs after the summer, as I have some ideas, but need the time to try them out.

cheers

The cat and squirrel clocks are my favourites!
What is pyrography? Is it hard?

I can't get at the boxes on your website. Would be nice to see all the blank clock shapes in the "make your own kits"

HI EVERYBODY, many thanks for the nice comments.

Marcel, pyrography is the art or craft of woodburning, whichever way you describe it. It is not hard to learn or to do, but is fairly time consuming. The items on my site are fairly basic in terms of the pyrography, mainly being lines.
If you search the net with pyrography, you will find a number of sites, where the craftsperson is hugely talented, and has made some fantastic images using pyrography. It takes a while and lots of practice to get the effects right, when using shading on an image, but the perseverance is worth it because you get a terrific result, and a lot of satisfaction once an item is complete.

For some examples of terrific pyrography, have a look at Steve Wright's website

www.sunlion-pyro.co.uk. I have seen his stuff at craft fairs, and he is very talented, especially with the celtic items.

Hope this explains it a bit.

My own web site has now changed, and the boxes, which although fun to make, did not sell, have now been ditched. The hot favourite for me at the moment, is a range of wooden quilt ruler holders.

cheers

HI INDRI Thanks for the comments. I am afraid that i have scrapped the boxes section, as there was no interest in them.

I am planning to have more of the clock blanks on the web site, but as yet, have not made blanks for all of them. This was an idea that cropped up before xmas, so I did one and put it on the site, to gauge the reaction (nothing, none, zilch). You are the first person to have mentioned them. I was beginning to think that this was another bright idea, with no go in it.
