HI FOLKS I have just published a brand new web site, with my wooden creations.

Please take a look, and feel free to criticise away, both at the web site, and the products.

I know the web site needs a bit of tweaking, as i have some text placed as pictures, which apparently affects the way the search engines look at things. This is ongoing and should be sorted within the next few days. However, it should not affect the way you view the site.

The more feedback i get the merrier i will be.

the url is http://www.jbwoodcraft.speedy.uk.net

many thanks
JOHN

Hi,

You've got a nice simple site, which is always a good thing.

I'm not too sure about the stretched text which looks a bit odd.

I think you should make a little more of your email address, which really should be more prominent than down the bottom and if it was a link it would be easier for your customers to email you.

Maybe you should have a Contacts page with all your details on?

Please don't think I'm being picky (well, I'm a Graphic Designer so just ignore me!) but it's definitely a good start.

Good luck with it

Fiona

HI FIONA Many thanks for your comments.

I had wondered about the stretched text. I already have to change some of the text, so I will go through the site, and modify any wonky text.

You made a good point about the e-mail address. As it is the main method of contact, other than an actual purchase, I will improve it. The idea of a contact page is also good.

Thats the great thing about these forums, there is always somebody to put you right.

Your comments are very welcome. Thanks again.

regards
JOHN

No problem, just hope I didn't come across as nasty.

I agree it's good to get constructive criticism.

Keep up the good work!

No FIONA, I did not see your post as anything other than very helpful.

I get your point though, as even constructive criticism can come across as being nasty, when it just in print in front of you.

I happily take all the advice I can get, good or bad, because in the end I still get to make the decisions.

I have already used your suggestions to amend a couple of pages in my site, and it is already looking neater and not so fussy.

cheers
JOHN

hi john - i think the site is great - very simple to use and the pictures are big enough to show the products - i particularly love the snail CD Rack. the only thing i would say is that you can see your bed in the background of the picture! Perhaps you should crop it a bit!! Other than that its a great, user-friendly site which does what it needs to do.

HI NICOLA Many thanks for the nice comments about my site.

I see you also have a site which is nice and easy to navigate.

I have been meaning to change the photo showing the edge of the bed for a while now, but laziness has stopped me.
It is a nice bed though lol.
