Hi everyone,(welcome)

I want to make one of those cards that has a rolling penny hidden in a panel but can't find instructions on "how to" anywhere. I've been through all my magazines with no luck, searched all my usual craft sites but as I don't know the proper name for the technique or type of card I'm not having much luck. Does anyone know what I mean by rolling penny? You attach an embelishment to a coin and when you tip the card from side to the side the embelishment rolls from one end to the other - I can see it in my head but just don't know the mechanics of the mechanism that makes it work.. Arghhh a few failed attempts already but without instructions I could be here a while.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

i know it ive watched it on craft shopping channel ive made 2 so far i will try and explain how to do it hope it makes sense you take a piece of card slightly smaller than the card your going to mount it on cut a slot half inch wide along the length of the piece of card.stick 2 2p pieces together with round foampads the thicker ones or cut corners to fit on back of 2p then you can attach whatever you want to the 2ps .attach the piece of card with the slots to main card with foampads so its raised away from the main card then slot one of the 2ps through the slot and the other one sits on the outside of the card with the slot and it should roll backwards and forwards along the slot i will sort out my card and post a picture of it on my blog hope it makes sense if not some else may know of a site which will give full instructions

Well done Jan, thats not the easiest technique to explain! :D

I havent made one but I've seen it demonstrated on the Create & Craft channel a couple of times, most recently just the other day in fact, its one of those things that makes perfect sense whilst you're watching someone doing it

i watched it to and was hoping that the person that asked might see it but then i do watch that channel quite a bit i was hoping i had made sense as you say easier to watch someone making one than explaining it

Sorry to go slightly off topic but where can I view the Create & Craft channel? I've got Sky so would it be a Sky channel?

The only remotely crafty programs I've come across on Sky are out of date basic water colour painting. It would be lovely to see some other crafts :)

I've learnt tons of stuff from watching 661, I like the way theyre constantly demonstrating so you can watch and watch and never buy if you so desire :)

Hi, I'm also a fan of Sky 661. I suspect like some of you spend too much money as I am going to build a big shed in the garden as the office is far tooooooo small for all my crafting gear. This card making has become a very expensive hobby.
