Velvet idea...Help me

My friend gave me many colors of velvet fabric, but I have no idea now that how I can work with them!!!

Which project that I could work with velvet fabric?

Oh!!! I forgot to tell that velvet fabric that I have is 46" width and 50 cm. long.

if you are going to use it on cards or scrapbooking i think i would make curtains using eyelets and then threadle them onto a skewer like a curtain pole and gold braid as tie backs make a good stage card or scrapbooking page even evening gowns you could put beads on end of skewers as finials

I was going to suggest patch work too.A girl in my college class,Cate Coles who is now a sucessful designer(grrrr, not that Im bitter.Have a look at her site)made a number of patchwork velvet items which made a real impact.
One thing I do suggest is that if you do patchwork, make sure the fibres of the velvet runs the same way.Like a cat, its fur falls one way and goes sticky up if you brush it in the wrong direction.

I just love free machine embroidery worked on velvet. The way the stitching sinks into the pile slightly looks fab. Could make no end of accessories with pieces this size. Bags, cushions, etc, etc, etc....
