Hi all,

Brand new so be nice :-)

I want to create flat round fabric - is there some easy way/formula of working out how many stitches I need to add to each row so that it lies flat? I have tried a variety of stitch numbers, but I end up with a sort of pleated effect because I am ending up putting too many in.

The one I am playing with at the moment is double treble stitch on a 4.5 needle using bog standard DK. I am working in the round from a first row of 24 stitches.

All help gratefully received!

Hi! Didn't wait until tomorrow, just had a look.I have found a pattern for a very pretty tray cloth but it is in cotton. It might give you an idea for the ratio of stiches though. I can photocopy it for you when i go to the village next week. I will Private message you now. Sue xx
