Hi All,
Following the first article I wrote on organising a craft fair I thought it was time to put fingers to keyboard again for the next thrilling installment!!! (if you didn't like the first one you probably won't like the next one either!).
Anyway, I have been trying to decide which topic to focus on next. So it would be a great help if you voted on the poll to help me decide which to go with.
If you have a suggestion other than those on the poll please suggest them here! Or PM me if you prefer.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards.

I voted for promoting the event because I think a lot of craft fair organisers get this wrong, probably with the best of intentions.
Your other topics would also be interesting (and valuable) to read!

You can have the perfect location, the right crafters, a good ballance of stalls, but if you don't have the punters then it'll all look rubbish!

Fairly unanimous (is that spelt right?) so far then!!!
It's open for a week by the way, so we'll see what the winner is then.
Thanks to all who've voted so far ...the more the better!

Errm.... gonna spoil that unanimous bit I'm afraid - surely it's a mix of a few - you can have a fabulous venue, miles away from people, advertise it like it's going out of fashion and zilch.
Alternatively you can have a reasonable location, with good advertising and punters is what you get ! ( if you're lucky) You also need continuity - 2 or 3 months of a local monthly craft event to get it established at least.
Catering is a very useful one in particular locations - where there's walkers/ramblers, little old ladies wanting a social occasion with their friends.....

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply and vote!
I think I may have worded the poll question a little wrongly. What I meant was 'which subject would be of most interest to an organiser ...next', having already written a sort of overview introduction to organising. I hope to cover all the subjects eventually.
Don't forget, by the way, all I'm doing here is passing on my own experiences ...I don't know the magic answer to 'how everyone can make a fortune at a craft fair' ...wish I did!!!
Can I just add that I think you are bang on about it being the right mix of several elements. Getting that balance right is what it's all about!
Regards.

I've voted too :)
I guess if I was thinking of trying my hand at organising a fair for the very first time, I'd want to read your articles in the "general" order I'd be expected to do things in....so whatever step comes after the one you've already written is fine by me Fair Do LOL

Catering was an option i was thinking about.
Wouldn't of been without my cups of tea on Saturday!
But i went for Promotion instead, but venue does help too.
