I like your website, it has a nice, friendly feel. The picture on the homepage is good, a taster of what's to come, and makes you want to visit Tavistock (and your stall), but what about putting yourself in the picture too? :) Or a picture of you doing something suitably "stitchy" on the "about" page?

I've bought loads of fabrics in the past for quilting, applique and card making projects, and if I was buying over the internet, I might want to see actual samples for colour matching, etc. Have you considered offering a swatch pack, which you could charge a small amount for? Maybe refundable off a purchase over a certain amount to encourage sales?

On your page about delivery, I would put the cost of shipping first, as that's what most people are most interested in, rather than which company/service will be shipping their goods to them.

One other tiny niggle (and it won't stop anyone from buying from you) is the quote as follows:

"Now thirty years later having trained and worked my way through various occupations and not to mention becoming a wife and mother. Here I am self employed, running (with the tremendous support of my husband and two children) my own business." - the full stop after wife and mother should actually be a comma, as your first sentence isn't a complete sentence. Told you it was a tiny niggle!! But there are people out there who are equally as nit-picking as me and it's best to get it right! :)

Anyway, looks like an exciting venture, with lots of potential; good luck!!

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for your constructive comments.
The front page photo does need to be updated...the picture is about two years old and I have since moved within the market to a much larger pitch.

Thanks for pointing out the bad grammar...
Your idea of a swatch pack is excellent....I will have to implement that.....which gives me an idea for the crafty picture...yours truly wielding a rotary cutter whilst cutting squares!

Regards,

Caroline.
