I've just created my first website which has some of my paintings on it.
I would really appreciate it if you could have a quick peek and give me your opinions.
Comments on any aspect, especially on what I could improve, would be really welcome.
Many thanks!! :)

Good luck with your new website. I think that you have some lovely saleable paintings, I would like to see your use of colour better, your photographs look slightly overexposed and I am not keen on the lilac background behind them, this is also impacting on your colour schemes. I thought I would be honest with my feedback as you did ask. My screen at home is not too good so it could be a problem with that.

lovely paintings!
I have to agree with Chris W, about the lilac background. It detracts from the paintings.
i also found the font size a bit too small, makes it difficult to read, perhaps increase it by 1pt at least to make it easier to read.
oh and I did spot 1 spelling mistake . the U is missing in numeracy
Well done, nice site, nice paintings

Thanks for your replies up to now.
Chris - Thanks for your honest feedback, it's what I wanted and is useful. I'm working on re-taking some of the photos, as I used a flash and there is shine in some of them. Not a photographer, though, so I think I will have a bit of a learning curve there. The lilac ground is something that some people have loved and some have hated so it'll have to go!! I think I need something more neutral that won't upset anyone. And of course which enhances rather than detracts from the art.
Ilovecrafts - Thankyou and your eagle eye for spotting the missing U in numeracy!! I am pedantic about spelling and proof-reading and cannot believe I missed it. Have changed it already. Because I did it from a template I'm not sure how to change the font size (it looks a bit complicated) but I will look into it, I know it can be done.
Keep 'em coming, this is great stuff!! Thanks again.

I think it all looks great! Really love your sunset paintings! I hate to give even the slightest negative comment but I think the other members are right about the background colour being a distraction from the paintings.
Good luck. Your work is lovely so I'm sure you'll have a lot of success!

Wendy,
I think your website is lovely & your paintings are beautiful i would never have noticed about the background until it was brought to my attention i suppose it is a bit pale to do your paintings justice but apart from that its great!
You must be very pleased & proud.

Thank you all for taking the time to have a look and for your comments, it is really helpful.
I have changed the background colour to blue, which I think may be a bit calmer and easier on the eye. I think perhaps it is a better background colour, but if you disagree, please say so!! :)
I have also changed the font size on the main pages but can't find the place to change it on the gallery pages. Still working on it!!
Any other comments welcome!
Thanks all
Wendy

Hi Wendy,
Stunning web site....Well done!
The contact page...is there a way to set the background colour?....the white space seems a little harsh after the overall calmness of the rest of the site.
Regards,
Caroline.

Thanks, Caroline, for your comments. I'll look into whether I can change the background on the contact page.
