Im not happy the Doctors daughter is appearing.
I like that the doctor wonders the universe all on his own(except for the assistants).
The back story of his home planet being destroyed(if thats what happened, not too sure)made me think if he had any family they would be gone too and he is all on his own.
But now a daughter turns up!!
What next, his wife turns up and he settles down...no more time travel!!

Hi,

Maybe the daughter is a clone or her mum is a past assistant or he spread his wild oats! The doctor always seems to have women falling over him!!

Or maybe she is a robot with his dna!!

i think the clone thing is along the right lines ,at the end he said "she came from me "
i love captain jack myself but was gutted when he was on this morning last week ,he was really plastic :(

But I do think it's rather cool that his daughter is played by the actual daughter of the 5th Doctor and is being directed by the actual daughter of the 2nd one!

...If that made sense to anyone!:)

Well, it says in this week's Heat....

"Has there ever been a more tantalising episode title in Doctor Who history than The Doctor's Daughter? Possibly. But it's a pretty damn tantalising one, we're sure you'll agree. You may, however, be slightly disappointed (unless you're Seahorse!) to find out that the daughter in question is not a straightforward product of the Doctor shagging some lady alien up a back alley in a previously unseen episode. (Better reviews in Heat than TV Guide!) And that it's slightly more complicated than her just being the Doctor's offspring. But by the end of this episode, you'll see it's all been worth it as David Tennant gets to act his chops off, becoming emotionally attached to the young lady who's clearly a chip off the old Timelord block."

It's not his acting ability I'm watching it for ;)

mmmmm, david tennant......

Although I must say Catherine Tate is ruining it for me, I can't stand her! Oh well, it'll only be one series I hope.

I knew the doctors offspring had to be something more in depth that the doc having it off with an alien lady, has the doctor actually had it off with anyone?

I am sure the ladies on the craft forum would form an orderly queue if he asked? :D

That's true isn't it?!

Was that ever explained? Was she his real grandaughter, or did they use that as an excuse as to why an old man was travelling round the universe with wee young lass?

ladyrat

It wasn't ever explained but she was his grandaughter. She was at school on Earth and her great knowledge of science and history alerted 2 teachers into investigating her.

I live with a Doctor Who buff!:D

COuld anybody understand a word Billie Piper was saying last episode??!Its like her teeth were too big for her mouth, very odd.

Also Im sure ive said it before but Il say it again,I am amazed at how well the writers can take an everyday thing and turn it into something scary or something to make kids have a think.
Especially the episode where Lesley Sharps character kept copying the voices, just like kids copying their parents(which really winds them up) and turned it into something scary, then at the end Donna jokingly copied something the Doctor said and he say 'No, dont do that'.
If the Doctor says dont do it, its best to do as he says.

Next week DALEKS!!!!

I thought that too - I couldn't understand a word she was saying either! And I know what you mean about Lesley Sharps character. I watch a lot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the ones with monsters that look like monsters are fine but the ones with vaguely human characteristics are very scary. Like The Gentlemen from Hush - urrrggghhh.

I thought she sounded like she'd had her tongue pierced or something.

I watched to Dr Who confidential on BBC3 straight after (well, there wasn't enough of the Tenant in the real episode!) and in her interview she sounded fine. She did say because it had been a couple of years since she'd played the role of Rose she was worried in case she couldn't capture the character again so went out and bought all the dvd's to watch herself ... maybe she was trying too hard?

Would you all think I'm sad if I told you I watched the regeneration bit whilst squeezing my head whimpering "noooooooooo"

Mr Jelly took a lot of delight in teasing me about Mr Tennant leaving, but then he told me he's not .... phew!

I don't know how they explain him not changing, but rest assured, he's not leaving.....

(unless Mr Jelly's lying)

I'm very excited...I quite sadly took to reading the scifi boards at the weekend and the betting is already on as to who the next one is. The consenus of opinion is that the regeneration thingy is a red herring because there's apparently pics of him filming the Christmas special.
I'm hoping the next Dr is a woman!...might be a bit different...'course that also means the companion will have to be a bloke.

Hmm I think the woman idea is interesting but theres always the sexual tension thing with the Doc and the assistants.(not that there is any tension as the Doc isnt interetsed in a saucy way, but us as viewers can see whats going on)
Thinking of an older woman and a younger male assistant wouldnt be the same.

Think Ive already mentioned but Id like to nominate Richard Armitage, Luke Roberts or a new one, Jeremy Sheffield as a new doctor.Basically anyone I fancy.

David Tennant was filming here in Gloucester about 6 weeks ago, it was for the Christmas special.
I've been discussing this on another forum and we've come to the conclusion the hand in the Tardis will have something to do with this Saturday's episode and the Doctor's regeneration as it contains his DNA. x

Ooooh, yes - they have been making lingering camera shots of the hand haven't they? I bet that's it!

What do you think the thing that Martha Jones had in her hand and was told emphatically not to use it? You know that when people are told not to do something, they always end up doing it , don't they?

Love the Doc also, though hate to break bad news, he is actually dating his "daughter"!!!:o

My fear is that this series is SOOOOOOOOOOOO good, how will they follow it up!!??

You all seem to have missed the most important thing......

.....David Tenant was nearly naked!

:D:sm::D

I thought it was a really good conclusion to a series and tied up lots of loose ends, even if it was a bit cheesy at the end.

I thought Catherine Tate was brilliant and the humour between Donna and the Doctor was very realistic and not quite as intense as the other assistants.

Very good.

I'm going to be a bit controversial- I didn't like that last episode! It's like they had to tie up every loose end really quickly and didn't really make a good job of it....plus I hate what they did to Donna. She went from being someone who felt unimportant, became a well rounded character through being with the doctor....to nothing again by the end of the episode.
