Hello
Over the last six months or so I have experimented in making bakery-style soy wax melts but haven't been too pleased with the results. To make them look more realistic I want to try whipping the wax so that I can "ice" cakes and biscuits etc but I don't know how to do this.
Has anyone any experience of whipping wax who can advise please?
Many thanks
Emma

i've whipped wax before (and soap!) i just do it by letting the wax cool slightly and then using an electric whisk until it's at the desired texture (this can take a bit of time) it's usually just at the point where im just about to give up that it starts to work!

Hi Elle,
I use whipped wax quite a lot. I just use a fork, I let the wax cool until it forms a skin then just whisk with the fork. I keep mixing until the wax turns white (or whatever colour you have dyed it) you need to work quickly as the wax will set fairly quickly. As soon as the wax is able to hold it's shape I use the fork to scoop the wax onto the candle and by using a fork you can put the wick between the prongs of the fork to get the whipped wax round the wick.
I use the fork to fluff up the wax a bit too. Takes a bit of practice but it's not too difficult.
HTH.

Brill - thank you to everyone who posted replies. I shall have a go this weekend and fingers crossed (with enough practice) I will be pleased with the results! :p
