enamelling

I am really interested in trying enamelling. Does it have to be heated up quickly and to what temperature? I am wondering if I can use my kiln (that I use for Clay). Does anyone know any really good information sites on enamelling for beginners?

I've just bought an enamelling kit which includes the oven and am going for training in Oxford mid June.

Unfortunately you can't use the clay kiln.
