I can't believe it Watchdog has just said do not trust any website as it might be a fake!!
Its hard enough trying to get people to buy in the first place!
I've had a quick look on their site and so far they do not say what to look for, for a genuine site.
A very negative report, with no word for all of us trying to make a living offering great customer service and products through our sites!
Ahh thats better just had to share.

Yes I saw a bit of that too, I didn't catch all of it but I did see that PayPal were saying they could spot a fake site, so maybe there is a glimmer of hope.
I completely agree getting sales is tough enough but if we can find a way of making sure people know we are legitimate sites then that should be a positive.

I saw it too.
It doesn't make life any easier for the vast majority of genuine websites. And although it's good that they report it they will probably be sensationalising it to make better telly!
But one thing I would add to help console is that the scam sites are more likely (not 100% though I guess) to be offering expensive 'must have' items at silly prices rather than high quality crafted items at realsitic prices.
Hope that helps!
Regards.

I agree with both of you, it would be nice for Watchdog to update their site and put on info on how to check a site.
I do think your right fake sites do tend to offer things at prices to good to be true.
