Aw, cos I dont buy newspapers or watch the news, I didnt even know Anthony Minghella had died recently. He made one of my fave films, Truly Madly Deeply
Just saw a documentary and, for some reason, this bit really touched me. His mum and dad owned (maybe still do?) an ice cream business on Isle of Wight and everytime he had a major hit film they would make a new flavour of ice cream and name it after the film
I thought our Ice Cream Girl might like that

I taped the No1 ladies detective agency.Didnt realise it was by Mingella.
I loooove TMD!!I bought it about a year ago on DVD and only had the guts to watch it recently(tissues at the ready). Its amazing how you notice different things as you keep watching it.When it first came out I was about 15 and was very unwise, but on more recent viewings I realised that Alan Rickmans character was helping Mina by pushing her away and making himself annoying so she can get over him and move on.

I've never been to the IOW but just googled their family ice cream business website here you go http://www.minghella.co.uk/Default.action?_sourcePage=%2Fabout_us.jsp&page=homepage.jsp
So sad, I think he was only 54, makes you feel like sending them a sympathy message. Maybe I will, having a think about it
I've not watched TMD in years, it'd be so nice to see it again, wonder if they'll put it on as a tribute. Likely I guess
