View Full Version : What a day I've had!!

It's been one of those days.

Got up a bit late but thats ok as its Easter and the traffic was fine. Got to Asda at about 8am (just me and Samuel on a Thursday so we have juice and chocolate as a treat on the rest of the way to nursery!).

Samuel threw up everywhere in Asda on the chocolate aisle. I nearly did myself as it was mainly milk that had been around a while.....:o He has a short reflex between coughing and being sick, so thought nothing of it really - he just made a mess!

Dropped him off at nursery in Preston and carried on to work at Kirkham. Put key in door and it would not unlock. Tried for 5 mins as thought I was being a week girly (the door blew off its hinges a few weeks ago and its been sort of mended but its a bit stiff). So ended up ringing the site manager who came round with the key to the other door and also the bloke who sorts out our fickering lights as he is fab with doors.

Basically new casing had to be put in and it peed it down whilst he did it for 4 hours.......

Nursery rang at 3:30 - Samuel had been sick everywhere and was rapidly filling up buckets (other kids followed suit heheheh!). So set off at 3:40 - normally takes me about 15 mins to get there.

2 hours later I got there.

M55 shut and the other roads into Preston totally snarled - combination of traffic and lots of road works.

Got home after crawling on M6, M61 and M65. Bathed Samuel. jim jams on. Took him downstairs. Promptly sick everywhere again.

Lets hope tommorow is better. I'm not going anywhere!!!!!!!!!!:D

Oh my goodness. Poor you. What a day. I should just sit in a darkened corner and eat chocolates or something soothing - or a good drink might do the trick. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

...this lurgy that's been going around.

Our youngest came down with it over Mother's Day, when we were away and the DD had to deal with it. Bad enough that she had to deal with his terminal squitters, but by the time we got home next day he was being sick too. Our Sam has been sick only half a dozen times in his 11 years, so he's not practised at getting to the bowl or the loo. Our washing line looked great with 20+ teddy cats strung up by their ears......and cleaning a high cabin bed up was just great fun.....not!

Sam got over it quickly after starving for 24 hours, but he passed it on to his brother. James was off school for a week, and he was as white as a sheet. Luckily he knows to get to the bathroom quickly, so no disasters there, just one really poorly boy. Oh yeah, and he had a broken thumb to deal with too, which was incredibly swollen and went from yellow to purple to black in colouration.....

The rest of us got off lightly with terminal squitters and no appetite. We're all back to normal now. At least in our house we're all older, no fun at all whn the poorly bod is just a wee one.

In the middle of all this was Sam's 11th birthday, and he was gutted that he couldn't go to Pizza Hut. We ordered in instead, but not much consolation for Sam.

I hope your Sam is better today, Ruth, and well enough to enjoy his Easter Eggs by Sunday.
And you, I do hope you are feeling relaxed and rested now.:jippie:

Have a lovely Easter,

Jules

What a horrible day for you and Sam. Glad to hear he's a bit better today though and hope you are both sorted by Sunday so you can scoff your Easter eggs!

Jacob came down with it on Sunday but he was only sick once (he's too tight to part with his food!) but both ok now!:D
