hi, don't know if anyone can help me. I'm trying to make a special gift which involves using the shells of medicine capsules. I know it sounds weird.

My problem is that the capsules (i'm using real ones) are water soluble so any water based varnish or solvent melts the capsules, just wondered if anyone had any suggestions?

Thanks
p.a I'm new and this is my 1st post

Now is that a knowing wink Peter?

I wonder if you'd be better buying the plastic toy versions (jumping beans)
they look much the same but are plastic.

The only drug ones that would probably be able to stand up to any wetting would be enteric coated ones that are designed to withstand the stomache acids and breakdown in the dueodenum.

This wouldn't be the sort of varnish that stops the sniffer dogs detection that you are looking for?:D

thanks for you responses, the reason I wanted real capsules is because the gift I'm trying to make is for a pharmacist friend and most real capsules have codes and symbols on them.

Would the spray on laquer make a hard coating?

Thanks for all the advice.
